3BM Spaces “QUEEN’S MANOR UPDATE”

3BM in association with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (LBHF) and the Queen’s Manor Primary School have received planning approval for the creation of a new Disabled Children’s Resource Centre and the redevelopment of the SEN Unit at Queen’s Manor Primary School in the planning committee held at the LBHF town hall on Tuesday the 14th March.

Queen’s Manor Primary School currently offers support for Special Educational Needs pupils as part of their curriculum. However, the existing 1950s timber block for SEN provision is currently in severe disrepair and lacks some of the spaces benefitting SEN pupils of today. As part of the project, we are demolishing the existing SEN block and rebuilding a larger, modern building. The new building will have larger classrooms with the latest technology, a teaching kitchen, a sensory room, break-out areas and improved building services. In addition to improving the SEN provision, the entire site of Queen’s Manor Primary School will be re-landscaped. This will greatly improve the external play provision for all children in the school. The proposed landscape provision also includes a Multi-Use Games Area which will improve sports provision throughout the year.

The Disabled Children’s Resource Centre will offer a new service to the borough. The details of the service offer are still being developed by the Social Services, however, in general, the centre will be a ‘drop-in respite’ for parents and children with varying levels of disability. The centre will have play spaces, quiet spaces, a sensory room, a kitchen, offices and training spaces. It will also offer advice to parents on a drop-in basis. It will cater for up to 20 children between ages 0 and 18 at any one time and it will be run on weekday evenings, weekends and holidays. The centre will have a small courtyard to allow free-flow between the external and internal spaces but it also has access to the wider playgrounds of the school, which are also being redeveloped as part of the project.

During the design process 3BM worked with the Local Authority to consult and encourage the involvement of parents, carers, staff and residents through workshops and public consultation events. This was an invaluable tool in forming the brief and offer but also helped form the architecture of the buildings. Besides the consultation process a major inspiration for the architectural design was the Grade II Listed main school building. This informed the material choices of natural stone cladding and timber-framed windows but also the overall design of the building elevations. The rhythmic repetition of tall and narrow windows in deep reveals picks out some of the key characteristics of the main building. The single-storey buildings are kept lower in height so they appear servient to the main building.

It’s National Apprentice Week 2017! Check out what people had to say about our Apprentices and Apprenticeships…

Here is a video slide of what 3BM’s staff think about our our Apprentices and Apprenticeships.

Sean O’Kane explains why enrolling on a 3BM Apprenticeship is a great career choice!

Testimonial From Our Apprentice Damir

I started my Digital Marketing apprenticeship with 3BM on 1st December 2016, and in this exciting month, I have been warmly welcomed into the 3BM family. The support I have received from all my colleagues has been phenomenal; it has enabled me to ascertain new skills, grow as an individual and allowed me to develop a career in a field that has always intrigued me.

The respect between colleagues regardless of hierarchy is what makes 3BM so unique, everyone is treated fairly, ideas for innovation are actively sought and everyone is truly valued.

The special mixture within the organisation entails; strong company values, friendly colleagues, lots of exciting and challenging work that means life at 3BM never gets mundane.

I do believe an apprenticeship was the best choice for me, as you are able to be more practical and hands-on rather than reading from a textbook.

Today, I am fortunate to say I have, in fact, found my passion and am doing what I love.

3BM Christmas Card Competition

For the first time this year, 3BM held a Christmas Card Competition with our primary school clients. The competition was open to KS1 only students and had a great response with over 80 entries! This was amazing given that there was a limited time to complete.

We had some fantastic designs, with a great effort being made by all. The entries were judged by the 3BM Creative Director, in our Marketing division.

We are pleased to announce that the winning design was created by 5½ year-old Felix Camacho, from St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.

Felix received a £25 John Lewis voucher and St Thomas’ a £75 donation to their school fund.

All students who entered the competition received a bag of chocolate coins and a certificate of participation.

The design has been transformed into our 2016 Christmas card and is currently being posted out to all our clients.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the schools who entered and we look forward to hosting the event again next year!

We will be posting out photos on our social media so please take a look.

John was inspired to raise money for the charity after both of his parents were cared for by Macmillan nurses during their fight with the awful disease.
“Macmillan and Marie Curie were amazing in looking after my Mum & Dad.” John says on his donation page, “And they also supported me and my two siblings through this dark and emotional time.”

If you’d still like to donate to this amazing cause, you can do so on John’s Brave the Shave page.

Sean employed after Apprenticeship Programme

I started my apprenticeship in the Corporate Finance Team of 3BM, in October 2014, with no working experience and I was extremely anxious about what to expect. However, the support and patience I received from my colleagues helped me feel more comfortable and I settled very quickly. After being trained and shown how to perform the tasks needed of me as an apprentice, I instantly felt like part of the team and that my role had a purpose.

Being at 3BM has not only taught me skills specific to my role, but it has also taught me about the working life, which is what I wanted to gain out of my apprenticeship.

I’ve always known that I’ve wanted to work and 3BM gave me the chance to start my career which I am very grateful for.
